ROCK FALLS – Miriam A. Schultz, 85, of Rock Falls, died Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015, at Alden Debes Nursing Home in Rockford.
Miriam was born July 16, 1929, in Chicago, the daughter of Leslie and Ruby (Brewer) Brown. She married Raymond C. Schultz on April 23, 1966, in Sterling. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 2006. She owned and operated Jean Ann’s Hobbies and Gifts in Rock Falls, where she taught many classes. Miriam was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church in Rock Falls, Sterling Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Marine Corps League Auxiliary, and the Rock Falls American Legion Auxiliary. She was a past president of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed cake decorating, candy making, crafting, reading, and doing puzzle books.
Survivors include two daughters, Sharon (Stephen) Finch of Mead, Colorado, and Debra Cameron of Rockford; four sons, Leslie Linton of Pekin, Randel Linton of Grand Ledge, Michigan, and Robert (Barb) Linton and Raymond (Katherine) Schultz Jr., both of Sterling; one brother, Lyman Goff of Ohio; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
She also was preceded in death by her parents and two grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls. Celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Andrew Catholic Church, with Monsignor Thomas Dzielak officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery in Rock Falls.
