DIXON – Dorothy M. Blackburn, 87, of Milledgeville, died Friday, March 13, 2015, at her daughter’s home in Dixon.
She was born April 16, 1927, in Dixon, the daughter of Mathias and Mary (Cramer) Levan. She married Edward M. Blackburn on Nov. 26, 1946, in Walton. He preceded her in death May 15, 1991.
She was a graduate of Dixon Business College and worked at the Lee County Nursing Home for many years.
She also was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Levan.
Ma was loved and admired by all.
She is survived by six sons, Douglas (Louella) Blackburn of Dixon, Gerald Blackburn of Sterling, Ronald (Madonna) Blackburn of Medford, Wisconsin, Harold (Kathleen) Blackburn of Columbus, Wisconsin, David Blackburn of Milledgeville, and Billy Blackburn of Rockford; three daughters, Marlene Blackburn of Milledgeville, Elaine (Don) Reece of Oregon, and Teresa Blackburn of Dixon; 17 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Russell (Caroline) Levan of Grand Detour; and sister-in-law, Joann Levan of Dixon.
Visitation will be from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. Tuesday at Jones Funeral Home in Dixon, with a scripture service at 8 p.m. A prayer service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, followed by a 10:30 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial at St. Anne Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Antoni Kretowicz officiating. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
