St. Charles resident Rick Windle, 45, was coming out of Under the Big Top in St. Charles when he answered 12 questions for the Kane County Chronicle's Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? St. Charles

Pets? A chocolate lab/German shorthair pointer mix named Reesey.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Steve Carell

First job? At the old St. Charles Dairy Queen.

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A spy. I became a teacher. I teach sixth grade at Wredling Middle School in St. Charles.

A book you’d recommend? “Unbroken” the movie and the book, “Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption” by Laura Hillenbrand.

Favorite charity? Anderson Animal Shelter in St. Charles Township

Do you have children? Three

Words of wisdom? Keep on trying, and don’t give up.

What game show would you be on? “Wheel of Fortune”

Favorite local restaurant? Francesca's by the River in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? We have traveled to France, Germany Switzerland and the Netherlands.
