Kathryn Parrott

BENTON – Kathryn Parrott, 79, of Benton, formerly of Prophetstown, died Sunday, April 12, 2015, at Franklin Hospital in Benton.

Kathryn was born Sept. 24, 1935, in Benton, the daughter of Millard and Dorothy (Conner) Mandrell. She married Robert R. Parrott of Princeton on May 11, 1952. He preceded her in death Feb. 15, 1992.

Survivors include one daughter, Brenda (Jeff) Melton of Prophetstown; two sons, Robert L. Parrott of Dixon, and Curtis M. Parrott of Rock Falls; two brothers, Homer (Fay) Mandrell of Deer Grove, and Bobby (Francis) Mandrell of Georgia; two sisters, Judy (Ervin Jr.) Goodell of Rock Falls, and Dorothy Jane Mandrell of Benton; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Brian in infancy; three brothers, Billy, Lewis, and James Mandrell; and two sisters, Donna Harrison and Carolyn Staton.

A private memorial graveside service will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Elm Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Princeton, with the Rev. Jeff Goodell officiating. Cremation rites have been accorded. Leffler-Poulson Funeral Home in Benton is handling arrangements.
