LADD — Lucille Hassler, 88, of Ladd died peacefully and surrounded by her family on Tuesday, May 5, 2015, at the Spring Valley Nursing Center.
She was born in Spring Valley on Feb. 6, 1927, to George and Emily (Roe) Plym. She married Theodore “Ted” Hassler on Dec. 10, 1955.
She worked at Graphic Electronics in Ladd. She enjoyed baking, canning and working with her flowers. She loved being with her family.
She is survived by one daughter, Patricia (Darryl) Newell of Tiskilwa; two sons, James (Laura) Hassler of Ladd and Thomas (Beth) Hassler of Woodlawn; six grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Melvin (Charlene) Plym of Ladd and Donald "Ike" (Jean) Plym of St. Augustine, Fla.
She was preceded in death by her husband on July 4, 1998; and one brother, George Plym.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, in the Hurst Funeral Home in Ladd with the Rev. Mike Slutz, pastor of the Hollowayville United Church of Christ, officiating. Burial will be in the Ladd Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be James, Matthew, Tom and Adam Hassler, Darryl Newell and Victor Gensini.
