Ronald L. Haynes

ROCK FALLS – Ronald L. Haynes, 68, of Rock Falls, died Thursday, May 21, 2015, at KSB Hospital in Dixon.

Ronald was born Oct. 10, 1946 in Tazewell County, Virginia, the son of Leonard and Beatrice (Poff) Haynes. He was a Navy veteran and served his county in the war in Vietnam. Ronald was employed by Mayflower Trucking for more than 30 years before retiring in 2008. He married Sherry Wetzell on June 7, 1968, in Morrison. Ronald loved spending time with his family, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife, Sherry; two daughters, Nicole Burkett (Oscar Martinez) of Sterling and Kim (Tom) Feary of Chadwick; one sister, Linda (Victor) Vonchetti of Florida; five grandchildren, Alec (Kourtney Mullan) Burkett, Kylie Burkett, Andrea Feary, Nathan Feary, and Averie Burkett and special mention, Corby Burkett.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Joyce Johnson; and one brother, Al Haynes.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday and the funeral at 11 a.m. Wednesday at McDonald Funeral Home in Rock Falls, with Brian Vickers, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Coloma Township Cemetery.
