OHIO, Ill. — Francis E. Snodgrass, 88, of Ohio, Ill., passed away Saturday, May 30, 2015, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home.
He was born in Ohio, Ill., to Vincent and Clara (Dee) Snodgrass. He graduated from Ohio High School in 1944 and was a member of FFA. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 to 1947. He married Donna Long on March 10, 1963, in Amboy.
Francis spent his life farming in Ohio Township. Francis was also a member of the Walnut Masonic Lodge, served as president of the Ohio Grade School Board, and also served as president of the Ohio Centennial Celebration. He served on the Farm Bureau Board as president, secretary and treasurer for various years. He was also a member of the Bureau Valley Antique Engine Club. He attended Harvest Time Bible Church in Rock Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Donna; one son, Tim (Traci) Snodgrass of Ohio, Ill.; one daughter, Kim Ann Snodgrass of Nashville, Tenn.; one granddaughter, Ellie Ann Snodgrass; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Harold Snodgrass and Leroy Snodgrass; one sister, Ella Snodgrass; and one child.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, June 3, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton with Pastor Dalmes Meeks officiating. Burial will follow in the Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 2, at the funeral home.
