Jackson Middle School of Villa Park dominates conference track meets

VILLA PARK – Simply put, Jackson Middle School track and field teams dominated the 2015 West Suburban Middle School Conference meet.

Three Jackson teams took home conference titles: The seventh grade boys team coached by Jackson PE teacher Norm Aliga, the eighth grade boys team coached by Jackson science teacher Gerrik Grove, and the eighth grade girls team coached by Jackson PE teacher Nina Vicicondi.

Additionally, the seventh grade girls team coached by Jackson PE teacher Christine Scardina finished second at the meet held at Elmhurst College.

“Not in recent history has Jackson enjoyed having four championship teams,” Jackson athletic director Eric Willis said in a news release from District 45.

A brief celebration after the meet allowed Jackson Principal Renee Reynolds, Willis and the four coaches to celebrate the accomplishments of all the athletes involved.
