Glenn Pearson

MALDEN — Glenn Joseph Pearson, 84, of Malden died Tuesday, June 23, 2015, at the St. Paul Medical Center OSF in Mendota.

Born June 19, 1931, in Princeton to Pete and Florice (Seaton) Pearson, he married his high school sweetheart, Norma Jean Fiste, on Sept. 30, 1951, at St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton.

He graduated from Malden High School in 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He farmed in the Malden area all of his life.

He served as a member of the Malden High School Board of Education, Berlin Center School Board, Malden Bank Board of Directors and Malden Fire Department, and was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church on the Hill, where he served on the church council and in many other capacities.

He enjoyed sports, fishing, hunting, boating, playing cards, traveling, spending time with family and friends, and vacationing in the Ozarks.

He is survived by this wife, Norma; three sons, Larry (Pat) Pearson of rural Arlington, Randy (Robin) Pearson of Towanda and Gregg (Kaye) Pearson of Princeton; one sister, Betty Ann (Bill) Losey of Princeton; seven grandchildren, Paul Pearson, Stacy (Matt) Sink, Matthew (Amanda) Pearson, J. Michael Pearson, Marc Pearson, Brad (Christine) Pearson and Jaimie Pearson; and three great-grandchildren, Magnus, Caden and Novalyne Pearson.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant son.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at St. John's Lutheran Church on the Hill with Pastor Kim Lee-Brown officiating. Burial will be at a later date.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Saturday, June 27, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton and from 2 to 3 p.m. Sunday, June 28, at the church.

Memorials may be directed to St. John's Lutheran Church on the Hill, Greenfield Retirement Community and the Mendota Lutheran Home.
