LA GRANGE – Lance Cpl. Josh Misiewicz was a key member of the 2015 U.S. National Sled Hockey Team.
The U.S. Marine and La Grange native contributed seven total points during the 2015 competition, including an assist in the 3-0 win against Canada in the championship game at the 2015 International Paralympic Committee Ice Sled Hockey World Championships in Buffalo, N.Y.
Misiewicz and two teammates from the U.S. National Sled Hockey Team, Kevin McKee of Chicago and Brody Roybal of Northlake, will reunite on July 6 for the 3rd Annual Josh Misiewicz Golf Outing.
The fundraising event will take place at 8:30 a.m. at Odyssey Golf Course in Tinley Park. All proceeds will benefit the Semper Fi Fund.
Sled hockey allows players with physical disabilities to skate and play the game of hockey. The U.S. has a long and successful history in sled hockey, winning gold in three of the last four World Championships.
