ROCHELLE – Priscilla Ann Ferger, loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, 70, of Rochelle, passed away unexpectedly at her home Friday, June 26, 2015.
She was born Feb. 21, 1945, in Oregon, the daughter of Clarence A. and Leona E. (Amidon) Heller. She married Charles E. Ferger on June 8, 1968, at Grace United Methodist Church in Dixon. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1977. She worked in food service for many years at Dixon High School and Dixon Public Schools. Priscilla most recently was a school bus aide for the Rochelle School District and a volunteer at the Presbyterian Thrift Shop.
She is survived by her children, Jennifer (Jeff Cheiky) Ferger of Columbus, Ohio, and Jeff (Jenny) Ferger of Greenwood, Missouri; four grandchildren, Lauren and Logan Ferger, Paige Street, and Payton Arnett; two sisters, Ginnie (Larry) Schauff of Dixon and Judy (Dave) Blaine of Dixon; several nieces and nephews; her special friend and companion, Jack Roberts of Rochelle; and her best friend of 40 years, Judy (Dan) Oberg of Dixon.
She also was preceded in death by her parents.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Unger-Horner Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 400 N. Sixth St., Rochelle. Cremation rites will be accorded after the visitation. A memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Rochelle First Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Doug Forsberg officiating. Burial of her cremated body will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or to Granny Rose Animal Shelter in Dixon.
