Face Time with Gillian McNamara

Geneva resident Gillian McNamara was on Third Street in Geneva with her daughter, Katie, 12, and dachshund puppy, Rascal, when she answered 12 questions for the Kane County Chronicle's Brenda Schory.

Where did you grow up? Long Island and Wantagh, New York

Pets? In addition to Rascal, we have a parakeet named Tweety and four gerbils – Shadow, Oreo, Bambi and Clover.

Who would play you in the movie of your life? Danica Patrick

First job? Selling Christmas cards when I was 10

As a kid, what did you want to be when you grew up? A journalist and a photographer. I became a paralegal.

A book you’d recommend? “In the Bleak Midwinter” by Julia Spencer-Fleming

Favorite charity? Save A Pet, Bichon and Little Buddies Rescue and Placing Paws in the Hearts of their Forever Homes

Do you play an instrument? Piano

Favorite ice cream flavor? Baskin Robbins chocolate chip

Words of wisdom? Treat people the way you want to be treated.

Favorite local restaurant? ZaZa's in St. Charles

What is an interesting factoid about yourself? I met Paul Newman – regularly – at the race track because my father raced cars, and I raced. He was a lot shorter than you’d think.
