Gelsominos to celebrate 50th wedding anniversary

Mr. and Mrs. Vince Gelsomino of Princeton will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a celebration dinner in Joliet.

Vince Gelsomino and the former Jeanie Residori were united in marriage Sept. 11, 1965, in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Joliet by the Retired Rev. Monsignor M.J. Butala. They are the parents of Amy Gelsomino of Peoria and the late Danny Gelsomino. They also have two grandchildren, Kasey and Nathan of Elmhurst.

The couple moved to Bureau County in 1966 when Vince accepted an instrumental music teaching position for Western Community Unit Schools in Buda-Sheffield. He later worked for Kidder Music Service as a sales representative/clinician and retired after 30 years with the company in 2010.

Vince also played trumpet professional for many big bands and had his own band, Phaze.

Jeanie worked at the Bureau County Republican as community editor and later worked as a Realtor, retiring in 2012.
