CHADWICK – Kathy Sue Waller, 59, of rural Chadwick, died Friday, Sept. 4, 2015, at her home surrounded by her family.
Born July 24, 1956, in Sterling, she was a daughter of James and Gladys (Sathoff) Barnes. She married Dennis Waller on Feb. 23, 1974, in Sterling.
Kathy was a nurse with KSB Hospital in Dixon for more than 20 years and was a faithful member of First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling. She enjoyed reading, writing greeting cards to church members, music, and, in her early years, dancing.
Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dennis of rural Chadwick; a daughter, Jinni Waller of Sterling; two sons, Jeremy Waller (Heidi Wolber) of Coleta, and Josh Waller of Sterling; four grandchildren, Destiny Manning, Adalynn Waller-Hawkins, Skye Briggs, and Josey Waller; a brother, Pete (Debbie) Barnes, of Cushing, Oklahoma; four sisters, Norma (Bill) Lauts of Rock Falls, Barb Saxby of Freeport, Teri Lynn (Ken) Probst of Mission, Texas, and Angel (Felicity) Barnes-Fields of Streator; her fathers, James (Mary) Barnes of Streator, and Robert Meinsma of Rock Falls; one stepbrother, Dale Shipley of Streator; and two stepsisters, Debbie Hallam and Dana Shipley, both of Streator.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Gladys, and a brother, Jerry Gibson.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m., and the funeral at 6 p.m. Thursday at First Church of the Nazarene in Sterling, with the Rev. Robert Hasselbring officiating. Cremation rites will be accorded. Private interment will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park.
A memorial has been established to First Church of the Nazarene in her memory.
