WOODRIDGE – Five Cypress Cove Family Aquatic Park staff members are recognized at the Sept. 8 Woodridge Park District Board of Commissioners meeting for successfully reviving an unconscious 2-year-old victim who was found just below the surface of the water in the main pool Aug. 22.
The rescuing lifeguard was Helen Elizabeth (Liz) Tinnin, who, with the help of a patron, removed the victim from the water and activated the Emergency Action Plan, which alerted the pool management staff and lifeguard staff on break. Other lifeguard and management staff who assisted in saving the victim’s life were pool managers Danny Mejdrech and Hayley Stankiewicz and lifeguards Sky Arend and Reese Richardson.
