First Person (Sara Hudson)

Sara Hudson

Town: Princeton.

Family: Daughter Abbey, Son David, Mom Marcia and Dad Bob.

Occupation: Retail manager at Heartland Bank and Trust.

What was your first job: The first job I had probably started when I was in junior high. I worked for my dad's business, "Hudson Cleaning." He was a wonderful first boss, he instilled many great values in his employees and his children!

What is your favorite movie: "Somewhere in Time" (with Christopher Reeve and Jane Seymour).

What is your favorite book: "Gung Ho" by Ken Blanchard.

What is the best concert you've been to: This will surely give away my age; but I'd have to say it's a tie between Barry Manilow, Dan Fogelberg and Neil Diamond!

If you met a genie who granted you one wish, what would your wish for: I'd wish for my brother to be still healthy and happy and living on this Earth.

What's the hardest thing you've ever done: Saying goodbye to my brother Mark when he passed of cancer in 2012.

Where do you most want to travel, but have never been: Ireland.

What is one thing you're truly passionate about: Volunteering. There are so many wonderful causes out there that if every one of us spent an hour a week helping someone, somewhere, we could accomplish so much!

What is your favorite area restaurant, and what do you like to order there: The Feed Store, prime rib.

What is something you like about your hometown: I love that this community (where I've been all my life) is caring and compassionate. You know your neighbors, friends, co-workers and family will be there whenever you need them. Complete strangers will come out in someone's time of need to help. People truly care about each other in this town we live in and I'm thankful for that!

Is there anything you would change about your hometown: I think that frequently young people get the short end of the stick as far as perceptions are concerned. I'd like everyone to see how many wonderful altruistic young people we have in our midst. I think if we took the time to learn from our elders, listen to the ideas of our young people and be respectful of everyone's opinions, we could move our community even farther forward.
