Woodstock lawyer selected as McHenry County Associate Judge

WOODSTOCK – McHenry County's 22nd Judicial Circuit judges have selected a Woodstock attorney to fill the second vacancy on the local bench.

Jeffrey L. Hirsch, an associate with The Gitlin Law Firm was selected from a field of 18 candidates for the associate judgeship. The associate judges are chosen by the county's eight elected Circuit Judges.

Crystal Lake attorney Michael Coppedge also was chosen for an Associate Judgeship. Both vacancies were the result of retirements by judges Gordon Graham and Robert Bearderstadt.

Hirsch received his undergraduate degree in 1991 from Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana, and graduated from The John Marshall Law School in Chicago in 1994.

Like Coppedge, arrangements for the formal installation and courtroom assignment have not been announced.
