This fall, the Agriculture in the Classroom program once again hosted its annual fall poster contest.
This year, the title was “From Farm to Table.” First- through fifth-grade students from around Kendall County were encouraged to create a poster that featured how our food begins on a farm and ends up as part of our meals each day.
Hundreds of students from around the county submitted posters. Posters featured food, farms, plants, animals, farm machinery, and more.
From the posters, excellent entries were selected for each grade level and from that group, overall county winners were selected. Students selected as excellent entries were first-grader Ava from Cross Lutheran; second-graders Jenna G. from Churchill, Annabelle W. from Homestead, and Sam S. from Cross Lutheran; third-graders Landen F. from Churchill and Anabel V. from Centennial in Plano; fourth-grader Julia Waltmire from Churchill; and fifth-grader Christian Zukauskas from Churchill.
County-wide winning posters were created by first-grader Hunter from Cross Lutheran, second-grader Jordyn J. from Centennial in Plano, third-grader Addison P. from Churchill in Oswego, fourth-grader Sarah Zhang from Churchill in Oswego, and fifth-grader Kaylin M. from Churchill in Oswego.
