Liberty Junior High Student Council in New Lenox honors veterans

NEW LENOX – The Liberty Junior High Student Council in New Lenox hosted a breakfast and all-school assembly in which 40 local veterans attended on Veterans Day.

The student-led assembly featured information about the history of Veterans Day as well as the meaning of the POW/MIA flag. Patriotic performances from the Liberty band, orchestra, and choir as well as a presentation of the colors by the Lincoln Way JROTC were also a part of the assembly. Liberty eighth-grader Miles Hagen performed taps.
