Dale E. Rhodes

DIXON – Dale E. Rhodes, 82, of Dixon, died Saturday, Dec. 12, 2015, at his daughter's home in Green Valley, Arizona. He owned and operated Rhodes Feed Store in Dixon for 33 years before his retirement.

He was born June 25, 1933, in Dixon, the son of Clayton Edward and Vera (Heckman) Rhodes. He married Gayle Myers on June 26, 1955, in Princeton. Dale was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon. He served in the Army during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife, Gayle Rhodes of Dixon; one son, Dean (Joan) Rhodes of Dixon; one daughter, Jodi (Steve) Brown of Green Valley, Arizona; one brother, John (Betty) Rhodes of Peach Tree Corners, Georgia; one sister, Evelyn (Phillip) Cornwell of Dixon; five grandchildren, Sandra (Aaron) Adams of Missoula, Montana, Clayton Rhodes of San Antonio, Jamison Bushman of Prescott, Arizona, Nathan (Kali) Rhodes of Grand Junction, Colorado, and Kellyn (Abraham) DuBois of Tolleson, Arizona; and five great-grandchildren, Oakleigh Adams, Cypress Adams, Abraham DuBois, Edmund DuBois, and Finn Rhodes.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday, followed by a 7 p.m. prayer service, Friday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr, pastor, officiating. Burial, with full military graveside honors accorded by the Dixon combined veterans organizations, will be at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens in Dixon.

A memorial has been established to the American Cancer Society.
