Dorothy M. ‘Dotti’ Real

STERLING – Dotti Real, 98, died Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2015, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. She resided at Good Samaritan Center in Mount Carroll. Dotti was formerly of Milledgeville and later of Sterling.

Dotti was born Nov. 8, 1917, the daughter of James and Ivy (Senneff) Cheeseman. She married Harold Real of Milledgeville on Dec. 31, 1942.

Dotti was a farmer, along with her husband, for 48 years. She was an active member of the Milledgeville Brethren Church, serving on numerous boards and committees including being a Sunday school teacher and deaconess. She was a volunteer at Community General Hospital in Sterling for 22 years.

Survivors include her daughter, Virginia “Gini” (Jimmie D.) Peterson of Milledgeville; three grandchildren, Marcel (Liz) Hutchison of Milledgeville, Dominique (Alan) Beck of Chadwick and Malynda Last of Milledgeville; and four great-grandchildren, Brittni and Kaitlin Hutchison and Maxwell and Boden Last; also, a special family, David and Ellen Stogsdill of Oakley, Michael Stogsdill of Cerro Gordo, Tammy (Brian) Ennis of Clinton, and Tiffany (Ryan) Cochran and Aaron, Nathan, and Miranda Ennis, all of Illinois.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; her parents; her sister, Claudina Cunningham; and a nephew, James Cunningham.

Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. today, and the funeral at 11 a.m. today at Milledgeville Church of the Brethren, with Jim Black, pastor, officiating. Burial will be at Oak Knoll Memorial Park in Sterling.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
