Kane County sheriff cites 2 in alcohol compliance checks

An Elburn man was one of two people cited last week with selling alcohol to a minor during a round of liquor compliance checks, according to a Kane County Sheriff's Office news release.

Conducted on Wednesday, the checks were done at 12 businesses with undercover agents, the release states.

Chuck’s Bar and Grill, at 47W739 Route 64, Virgil; and Mott’s Bar, at 195 Main St., Burlington; sold alcohol to minors, according to the release. Their employees – Ronald Ritchey, 64, of Elburn, and Lori Ward, 56, of Marengo, respectively – each received citations and were given a court date, the release states.

The businesses that successfully passed the checks were as follows:

• Fox View Liquor Store, 6N559 Route 25, St. Charles.

• Winners Circle Bar and Grill, 50W226 Old State Road, Maple Park.

• Calamity Jane’s, 9S593 Route 47, Sugar Grove.

• BP, 9S593 Route 47, Sugar Grove.

• Dutch West Inn, 36W610 Foothill Road, Elgin.

• Old Starks, 43W478 Route 72, Hampshire.

• BP, 125 W. Plank Road, Burlington.

• Stoney’s Tavern, 1031 Ridgeway Ave., Aurora.

• Rudy’s Bar, 900 Hill Ave., Aurora.

• Parkside Lanes, 34W185 Montgomery Road, Montgomery.
