Fire causes $100,000 in damage to home near Maple Park

MAPLE PARK – A fire caused $100,000 in damage Monday afternoon to a home at 45W825 Beith Road, Maple Park, according to a news release issued by the Maple Park Fire Department.

No injuries were reported, the release states. No one was at home when the fire began. The residence is not habitable.

The blaze is under investigation, but the release indicated the fire does not appear to be suspicious.

According to the release, firefighters were called to the scene of the structure fire at 12:39 p.m. Upon arriving at 12:50 p.m., firefighters found heavy smoke with flames showing from the house’s south side.

The Maple Park Fire Department received help the Elburn, Kaneville, Burlington, Fox River, Hampshire, Sycamore, DeKalb, Geneva, Sugar Grove, Malta, Genoa, Waterman and Hinckley fire departments, as well as the Kane County Sheriff’s Office, Kane County Highway Department, Virgil Township Highway Department, the Kane County Office of Emergency Management and the Red Cross.
