STORRS, Conn. – Edward Francis Huber, 49, of Storrs, died peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, March 30, 2016.
Edward was born July 5, 1966, in Mexico City, the son of Robert L. and Marianne (Faivre) Huber. He traveled the world with his parents when he was young. He went to St. Mary Elementary School in Dixon and Dixon High School. He was a graduate of Cornell College in Mount Vernon, Iowa, with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He married Sarah Stratton on Aug. 17, 2001, in Saint Lucia, West Indies, and lived in New Orleans. He worked as a potter, and owned and operated Lost Nation Casting on Magazine Street in New Orleans. They lived there until Hurricane Katrina. He and his wife had to evacuate New Orleans, and lived for a short time in the Dixon area, then moved to Storrs, where Sarah’s parents lived. He and his wife built a home in Storrs, and they settled there.
Edward is survived by his wife; his parents, Robert and Marianne Huber; his brothers, Michael R. Huber and Esteban (Stephen) Huber; his aunts and uncles, Frank (Carol Petty) Faivre, Janice (Raymond) Conkrite, John (Vicki Hoffman) Faivre, and Clare (Douglas) Stevens; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, and his niece, Alice Huber Leeder.
There will be several small memorial services at later dates. Potter Funeral Home in Willimantic, Connecticut, is handling arrangements.
A memorial will be established.
