Rodney G. Keefer

STERLING – Rodney G. Keefer, 76, of Sterling, died Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at CGH Medical Center in Sterling. He retired in 1984 from the Parish Alford plant of Northwestern Steel and Wire Co. in Rock Falls as a wire drawer.

He was born Aug. 17, 1939, in Sterling, the son of Amos and Doris (VanDrew) Keefer. He married Twilla Foskitt on July 6, 1962, in Rock Falls.

Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Brenda (Robert) Davidson of Las Animas, Colorado, and Delores (John) Fisher of Henderson, Kentucky; one son, Rodney Keefer Jr. of Sterling; one sister, Arlene (David) Crow of Rock Falls; three brothers, Danny (Caroline) Keefer of Dixon, Richard (Dianna) Keefer of Rock Falls, and Mike (Chris) Keefer of Sterling; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two stepgrandchildren; two step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A gathering of friends and family will be from noon to 1 p.m. Friday, and the memorial service at 1 p.m. Friday at McDonald Funeral Home & Crematory in Rock Falls, with the Rev. Daniel Behmlander officiating.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
