Adeline E. 'Addie' Jasper

FRANKLIN GROVE – Adeline Elizabeth “Addie” Jasper, 92, a lifelong resident of Franklin Grove, peacefully passed away Friday, April 8, 2016, at home, surrounded by family.

Addie, daughter of Richard and Lulu (Gnagy) Smith, was born May 16, 1923, in Franklin Grove. On May 16, 1943, she married Dale R. Jasper at her lifelong church, Church of the Brethren. Addie was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and member of her community in which she served.

She is survived by her husband, Dale R. Jasper of Franklin Grove; five daughters, Rebecca Jasper of Farmington, New Mexico, Rhonda (Steve) Hoffman of Franklin Grove, Rowan (Alan) Harn of Freeport, Ruth (John) Lehman of Washington, and Renee (Mark) Pitman of Bryan, Ohio; her daughter-in-law, Susan Jasper of Franklin Grove; 16 grandchildren, Kirby Jasper, Heidi Jasper, April (Mark) Glosser, Heather (Jim) Tinsman, Gavin (Nina) Harn, Grandon (Kirsten) Harn, Gunnar Harn, Joe (Leylan) Lehman, Jordan (Kacy) Lehman, Jonathan Lehman, Joshua Lehman, Anupriya Lehman, and Madeline, Anna, Eliot, and Leah Pitman; 11 great-grandchildren, Garrett and Macenzie Glosser, Luke, Adeline, and Jack Tinsman, Ethan and Hadlee Harn, Braden and Graysen Lehman, and Theo and Haven Lehman; Maria, her special friend and caregiver; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who she loved dearly.

Addie was preceded in death by her son, Robert Jasper; three brothers, Courtney, Richard, and Scott Smith; and two sisters, Mary Miller and Lois Fick.

Visitation will be from 1 to 4 p.m. Sunday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Church of the Brethren in Franklin Grove, with the Rev. Matt Rittle officiating. Burial will be at Emmert Cemetery in Nachusa, with fellowship and food to follow.

Memorials have been established to Kreider Services, Franklin Grove Church of the Brethren, and Franklin Grove Historical Society.
