HOUSTON – Linda Eva Barron Olalde Holloway Pryor, 65, of Houston, passed away peacefully at 2:05 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2016, at Emerus Community Hospital in Tomball, Texas, after a courageous battle with cancer. Linda had a strong will to live, unwavering faith in God, and the love and prayers of family. This love carried her through the last 4 months of her fight with cancer. Linda was born Jan. 30, 1951, in Sterling.
Linda is survived by her husband, Donald Pryor; her children, Valerie (Marena) Olalde and Anita (Scott) Woodford of Texas, and Domonique (Siria) Holloway of California; her nieces, Aries Lumpkins of Texas and Monica (Duke) Tate of Illinois; stepchildren, Lorenzo Jackson and Charles, Donald, and Karl Pryor of California; and her grandchildren, Jasmine Holloway, Alexandria, Elizabeth, and Christopher Woodford, and Domonique and Siria Holloway.
Linda grew up in a large, loving family, who loved to dance and listen to music. She also is survived by eight sisters and five brothers, Theresa Mullen of Washington, D.C., Rachel Lumpkins, Emilio Barron, and Diana (Fred) Montiel of Illinois, Ruben (Sherrell) Barron of Missouri, Ana (Louis) Ramos of Arizona, Robert (Teresa) Barron and Alicia (Webster) Hinton, both of Illinois, Beatrice (Tim) Scharder of Oklahoma, Eddie Barron of Arizona, Loretta (Tim) Ettinger of Indiana, and Candy (LaMont) Coy of Iowa. Linda leaves behind her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins, and close friends.
Linda was an incredible person – she opened her home to everyone, loved them, cared for them, and sheltered them.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Holloway; parents, Jose and Jacqueline Barron; grandparents, Emilio and Evarista Barron of Sterling; her brother; four nephews; and one niece.
Linda requested to be cremated, which will be accorded in Texas. A private memorial service for the family will be Sunday.
