DIXON — Vivian C. Burke, 85, of Dixon died Friday, April 15, 2016, surrounded by her family at KSB Hospital in Dixon.
She was born Jan. 1, 1931, in Sublette, the daughter of Arthur and Clara (Sibigtroth) Leffelman. She married Joseph R. Goy April 14, 1951, at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Maytown. He preceded her in death on Jan. 29, 1993. She then married Daniel J. Burke Jr. on Dec. 2, 1995, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Ohio. He preceded her in death on Oct. 4, 2013.
She had farmed with her husband for 20 years in the Maytown area, co-owned and operated Goy Hardware for five years in Ohio and worked at LCN Closers in Princeton for 16 years prior to her retirement.
Vivian was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon and the Green River Saddle Club in Amboy. She enjoyed gardening, adult coloring books, traveling with her husbands and spending time with her family. She was a devoted and prayerful Catholic.
Survivors include her two children, Yvonne (Joe) Rakowski of Ohio, Ill., and Greg (Meg) Goy of Oregon, Ill.; four stepchildren, Mike (Sue) Burke of Chana, Kathy (Larry) Yocum of Franklin Grove, Karen (Ed) Baylor of Ashton and Janine (Mark) Eykamp of Dixon; five grandchildren; eight stepgrandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; seven stepgreat-grandchildren; one brother, Gilbert (Linda) Leffelman; two sisters, Carol (Charles) Koch of Fond du Lac, Wis., and Norma (Leo) Bushman of Maytown; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by both of her husbands; three brothers, Hubert, Delbert and Norbert Leffelman; and one sister, Ruby McLaughlin.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, in St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon with the Rev. Bernard Sehr officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary Cemetery in Ohio, Ill.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 19, in the Holloway Center at St Patrick's with a scripture service at 7:30 p.m.
A memorial has been established.
