Oswego Bears player Sam Wilson receives Pop Warner scholarship

Sam Wilson, a varsity player with the Oswego Bears youth football program, received a $500 Midwest America Pop Warner college scholarship at the Midwest Regional Little Scholars Awards Banquet in Schaumburg. Being in the top 2 percent also qualifies for Wilson for the National Banquet at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.

The Oswego Bears Pop Warner program is proud to announce that 14 football players and three cheerleaders qualified for the Midwest Regional Little Scholar awards banquet on April 16: Noel Alvarez, Robert Barnes, Colin Brown, Jordan Carlin, Hannah Cullen, Noah Dia, Cole Hansen, Austin Johnson, Haidyn Kapusinski, Connor Mannis, Faith Matyszka, Matt McCollum, Kush Patel, Ardian Qitaku, Colin Rowe, Taylor Scott and Sam Wilson.

In addition, 41 Bears players had a grade point average of 90 percent or better, which means that 30 percent of the players and cheerleaders hold A's or better throughout the school year. You can log in to www.oswegobears.com for more information.
