AFC March Student of the Month: Mackenzie Wolf

ASHTON – Mackenzie Wolf, 18, of Franklin Grove, March Student of the Month at Ashton-Franklin Center High School in Ashton. She is the daughter of Kevin and Tammy Wolf, and she has three siblings, Megan Boos, 32; Zach Wolf, 29; and Adam Wolf, 25.

Favorite class: Calculus, because there are only nine of us in the class and it is always a fun time

Least-favorite class: Consumers education, because it is boring and I already know a lot about what we are learning

Favorite teacher: Travis Stauffer, history. He always pushes me to do my best. He always is trying new teaching methods that best suit all of his students. He knows our fullest potential, and he strives to do his best at getting us to reach it. Mr. T always makes us write out everything, and it is just my favorite part of his class, because I love writing.

School activities: Basketball, National Honor Society secretary, FFA secretary, and senior class secretary

Civic, church, volunteer or other activities: I am a member of the Grove-Go-Getters 4-H Club.

Do you have a job? I am a CNA at Franklin Grove Living & Rehabilitation Center.

What will you do after high school? I will attend the University of Kentucky, and major in nursing.

What is something you learned in high school that you think you will never use? Calculus

What kind of music are you listening to? Any radio station that isn't playing a commercial

Do you have a hobby? Anything outdoors

What's the one thing in your life you can't do without? My parents and siblings

What is your advice for surviving high school? Get involved and don't be afraid to try new things.

What scares you? Getting a creepy roommate in college

What's something about you that nobody knows? I don't have anything that someone doesn't know about.

If you could ask President Obama any question, what would it be? What are you going to do after January?

If you could try any job for a day, what would it be? A scuba diving Instructor

If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where would it be? Australia, because I always have wanted to go there and it looks beautiful

What is the last good book you read? "Things I Cant Forget," by Miranda Kenneally. It was about a group of high school students and their lives. It was good, because I could relate to it, being around the same age.

What is your proudest moment? Honors Night every year, because it is where we get awarded for all of our accomplishments from the year, and it shows me that all my hard work pays off.

Who is your hero or role model? My parents. They are always there for me whenever I need them and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them
