St. Charles police: Shooting incident appears 'isolated'

ST. CHARLES – A woman fleeing her home after a domestic battery was not harmed when her husband fired several shots at her from a revolver, according to a St. Charles Police Department press release.

In the release, police said the incident, which happened just before 6:30 p.m. May 3, appears to be "isolated."

"There is no danger at this point," St. Charles Deputy Police Chief Dave Kintz said around 8:30 p.m.

Police responded to the 400 block of Hunt Club Drive for a report of shots fired, the release states.

According to the release, the incident involved a married couple. The wife was leaving her house after a domestic battery and was shot at by her husband, who followed her, the release states.

The release indicated a passerby tackled the man and held him until police arrived.

The woman was not hit, according to the release.

The release, which was issued the night of May 3, indicated the investigation was continuing and that evidence technicians would remain on the scene to process the area.

The gun has been recovered, the release states.

"More information will be released as it becomes available," the release states. "This remains an active scene."
