Stickney-Forest View library receives biography on 90-year-old resident

Author Mary A. Susmilch-Monroe (from left) donates the biography she wrote about her mother, Henrietta Susmilch, to Stickney-Forest View Public Library District Popular Services Librarian Sonia Reppe and Popular Services Department Head Leighton Shell.

The book about the Forest View resident's life was donated April 22, the day before her 90th birthday.

"Henrietta Susmilch My Life" was written by Susmilch-Monroe, a published author whose previous works were written for young adult readers, after two years of interviews with her mother. It details Susmilch’s life from her birth in 1926 through growing up on a farm to raising four children to the present day.
