Latest edition of Lemont history book released

LEMONT – The newly published sixth edition of “History & Anecdotes of Lemont” presents a collection of articles that describe historical events and stories passed down through generations. It’s written by members of the Lemont Historical Society.

“The story of Lemont is unique, due not only to its history but to the strength, vitality and character of its people,” the society’s news release stated.

The book is now available at Lemont Historical Society, Smokey Row Antiques, Amazon and Kindle for $9.95.

The artworks on the book’s cover are murals located throughout the village. All represent projects supported by the community and depict some of the historical events for which Lemont is known, the release stated. The murals, along with other works of public art, are described in detail in the book.
