A Rochelle man remained in jail on felony charges Tuesday after police said he sexually abused a family member in May.
Justin M. Carraher, 28, of the 1200 block of Sunnymeade Drive, is charged with aggravated criminal sexual abuse and sexual relations within families.
If convicted of the most serious charge, aggravated criminal sexual abuse, Carraher could be sentenced to between three to seven years in prison.
Police arrested Carraher on Tuesday at his home, according to a news release.
He was transported to the Ogle County Sheriff’s Office, where he was wanted on unrelated charges, including missing a court date.
Authorities believe that Carraher had sexual contact with a juvenile family member at a home in the 14000 block of Somonauk Road, DeKalb, according to a news release.
The DeKalb County Sheriff’s Office was not immediately available for comment.
