Jesse Walters

PRINCETON — Jesse Lee Walters, 25, of Princeton died at 10:30 p.m. Friday, June 17, 2016, at his home in Princeton.

He was born March 13, 1991, in LaCrosse, Wis., to Justin D. and Janice F. (Murphy) Walters.

He graduated from Princeton Christian Academy and then from Princeton High School in 2009. He worked for the city of Princeton Street Department.

Jesse loved his family and his lifelong friends. They enjoyed his dry wit and sense of humor. Jesse was interested in drag racing, politics and animals, especially tigers and rats. He enjoyed hard work. He fought hard but lost his battle against depression and alcoholism. His faith remained firm.

He leaves a huge hole in the hearts of those who loved him.

Surviving are his parents, Justin and Janice Walters of Princeton; two brothers, Luke (Christina) Walters of Princeton and John (Heather) Walters of Princeton; two nieces, Maddie Walters and Kendall Walters of Princeton; his grandparents, John and Linda Murphy of Princeton, and Marge Walters of Princeton; two uncles, Mike Murphy of Hyattsville, Md., and Andy (Mindi) Murphy of Waxahachie, Texas; two aunts, Katie (Charlotte Albrecht) Murphy of Dexter, Mich., and Kimber (Cal) Swanson of Urbana; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Lee R. and Margaret M. "Midge" Walters; and his great-grandparents, Gerald and Leaffie Murphy.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday, June 21, at the New Hope Church of Nazerene in Princeton with Pastor Laura Tanner officiating. Inurnment will be at a later date. Cremation rites will be accorded at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Homes, Inc. Crematory in Princeton.

Visitation will be from 8 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the church.

Memorials may be directed to the local Alcoholics Anonymous.
