MORRIS – The seasonlong battle atop the Late Model points standings at Grundy County Speedway between Eddie Hoffman and Anthony Danta continued Friday night, as Hoffman and Danta finished 1-2 in the 30-lap feature race.
Hoffman, starting from the sixth position, took over the lead on Lap 10 and never relinquished it after that.
Danta, meanwhile, started in the eighth position and moved into second on Lap 24, but couldn’t overtake Hoffman as the winner finished .397 seconds ahead.
Andy Jones finished in third place in the Late Model race, followed by Billy Knippenberg and pole sitter James Gregait. Tony Scapelli Jr., Larry Schuler, John Nutley, Brandon Clubb and Boris Jurkovic rounded out the top 10.
During qualifying for the Late Model event, 13-year-old Garrett Swartz became the youngest driver to ever win a checkered flag as Grundy Speedway as he won one of the heat races. He then finished 20th in the feature.
In the Mid-American 25-lap feature race, Kevin Gentile captured first-place honors, with Ron Vandermeier Jr. taking second and Cody Clubb finishing third. Kenny Benson, John Vertrello, Jim Kachel, Kevin Murphy, Matt Clemens, George Schultz and Jake Bradley completed the top 10.
Randy Weese emerged from the field as the winner in the 25-lap Street Stock feature, with points leader John Senerchia taking second and Spencer Leake finishing third.
Rounding out the top 10 were Tim Stewart, Mark Ross Jr., Rick Dawson, Bill Serviss, Christy Penrod, Cheryl Hryn and Alex Clubb.
In the 15-lap 4-Cylinder division Friday night, Michael Tobuch raced to first place, with Chet Hartley finishing second and Jacob Theissen third. Bryce Leake, Matt Chester, Dan Schmeissing, Scott Gagen, Danielle Dobczyk, Katie Hocking and Spencer Leake made up the top 10.
Also on the slate Friday night was a 15-lap Super Cups race, which saw Noah Eisenhower take first place, followed by Trevor Addams,

The Grundy Speedway had an extra day of racing during the Grundy County Fair and hosted a program July 2.
In the 15-lap 4-Cylinder feature race, Dan Schmeissing took first place, with Bryce Leake second and Kyle Royster third. Dylan Marshall finished fourth, followed by Scott Ingram, Michael Tobuch, Jacob Theissen, Katie Hocking, Andy Bjornson and Scott Gagen to cap the top 10.
In a 15-lap Legacy feature, Tyler Brown took first, followed by Jordan Caskey, Greg Meiste, Mike Harrold and Sydney Wonderling.
Pat Bruns then took first in the 20-lap Midget feature, with Austin Smith taking second and Bob Schreffler third. Rounding out the top 10 were Jordan Caskey, Doug Oriske, Taylor Fenske, Ray Seach, Eric Reibenstein, Erica Ensor and Rich Corsen.
In the 25-lap Street Stock feature, Tim Stewart notched the victory, with John Senerchia second and Cheryl Hryn was third. Christy Penrod finished fourth, followed by Bill Serviss, Craig Matteson, Zach Sontag, Rick Dawson, Randy Weese and Alex Clubb.
In the 15-lap Super Cups race, Maggie Struthers was the winner, with Dallas Frueh taking second and Jamie Domski third. Lucas Schmipp was fourth, followed by Trevor Addams, Michael Mucha, Sydney Wonderling, Steve Naples and Zachary Tinkle.
