Margaret Redshaw

SPRING VALLEY — Margaret Edith Redshaw, 85, of the Spring Valley Nursing Center, died Tuesday, July 26, 2016, at St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

Margaret was born on Jan. 14, 1931, in Moline to John and Hilda (Rudeen) Porschke. She married Ervin Lyle Redshaw on Feb. 9, 1949, at the Granville First Lutheran Church.

Margaret attended Hopkins High School. She was a homemaker, property manager and cleaned houses for close friends. Margaret had a passion for working in her flower garden. She was a member of Granville First Lutheran Church.

Survivors include her husband, Ervin Lyle Redshaw of Granville; two sons, John (Debbie) Redshaw of Hennepin and Lyle (Penny) Redshaw of Hennepin; four daughters, Nancy (Marshall) Van de Wyngaerde of LaSalle, Sharon Redshaw of Ft. Collins, Colo., Merri (John) Ideler of Glen Ellyn and Jeanette Redshaw of Canton; one brother, Glenn (Sheila) Hanson of Utica; 15 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one sister, Mildred Anderson; and two children, Joseph and Jeannie.

There will be a private family service at the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville with the Rev. Karen Karczewski officiating. Burial will be in the Granville Cemetery in Granville.

Contributions may be directed to the Putnam County Educational Foundation or the Alzheimer’s Association.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Marshall Van de Wyngaerde, Jeremy Van de Wyngaerde, Brandon Redshaw, Patrick Griffith, Chase Redshaw, Mark Ideler and Matthew Ideler.
