CARY – Cary-Grove Jaycees Family Days continues Sunday, featuring attractions, prize booths, food and musical entertainment for local residents.

The weekendlong event, hosted by Cary-Grove Jaycees, a local community leadership organization that serves Cary and Fox River Grove, has carnival rides provided by Windy City Amusements along with a ton of game booths for children. Additionally, there are animal rides taking place at the event where children get the opportunity to ride around on the back of a pony or camel.

Drinks and food were provided by local food vendors, with food items including churros, giant pretzels, funnel cakes and other tasty treats.

Cary Days hasn’t been around since 2009, but Cary-Grove Jaycees recently decided to rebrand it and bring the family-friendly event back to the community.

“The Cary-Grove Jaycees used to have this event about eight years ago, but then it stopped,” Jaycees President Tracey Joyner said. “The community really wanted to see it come back. So a few months ago we started throwing ideas around, and it just built from there.”

One of the festival’s many attendees included Cary resident Gail Anderson, who came out with her husband and two kids. Anderson said it was nice to be able to spend a day with her family at a local venue.

“We used to go to the Cary Days, but the kids haven’t been to a carnival since then, so it’s nice to have one in town again,” Anderson said.

The event started Friday and goes through Sunday. Jaycees Family Days is at the corner of Three Oaks Road and Georgetown Drive.

Sunday’s Cary-Grove Jaycees Family Days schedule:

- The festival opens at noon and closes at 6 p.m.

- The carnival opens 1 p.m. and closes at 5 p.m.
