Dorothy Keller

MCNABB — Dorothy A. Keller, 98, of McNabb died Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2016.

Dorothy was born Feb. 9, 1918, in Roanoke to Wm. and Dora (Folkers) Reinken. She married Walter C. Keller on Jan. 22, 1944, in Benson. Walter preceded her in death on May 5, 1988.

She graduated from Illinois State Normal University with a degree in rural education. She was an elementary classroom and music teacher in Woodford and Putnam counties for 20 years.

Dorothy was an active member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in McNabb. She also volunteered at the Pulsifer House for the Putnam County Historical Society. Dorothy was an accomplished pianist and an excellent cook.

Surviving are three sons, Chuck (Renna) Keller of Normal, Randy (Lane) Keller of McNabb and Marty (Carol) Keller of McNabb; one daughter, Julie (Paul) Stranz of Charleston; nine grandchildren, Chad (Sarah) Keller, Chris (Liz) Keller, Brandon Keller, Tyler Stranz, Benjie (Jessica) Stranz, Zack Stranz, Amy (Nick Biratsis) Keller, Beth (Jared) Scheirer and Dori Keller; 11 great-grandchildren, Alaina, Ava and Aria Biratsis, Emmett and Watson Scheirer, Molly and Owen Stranz, Brayden and Maci Keller, and Carter and Kinzley Keller; and one niece, Alice (Ted) Schroeder of Sandy, Utah.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Sarah and Marie; two brothers, Frederick and Edward; and a nephew, Harrison Reinken.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 20, at the Dysart-Cofoid Funeral Chapel in Granville with Pastor Robert Kinas officiating. Burial will be in Friends Cemetery in McNabb.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday, Aug. 19, at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughters.
