Donald L. Lewis Sr.

DIXON – Donald L. Lewis Sr., 86, of Dixon, died Sunday, Aug. 28, 2016, at Aperion Care Amboy. He was an electrician for 47 years at Dixon Cement Plant.

Don was born March 7, 1930, in Dixon, the son of William and Sarah (Meador) Lewis. He married Shirley Boos on Jan. 7, 1955, in Dixon. He was a veteran of the Air Force, a member of the American Legion in Dixon, and enjoyed fishing.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Lewis, one son, Donald L. Lewis Jr., and two daughters, Debora L. Lewis and Vickie L. (Steve) Lewis-Osenberg, all of Dixon; two sisters, Edna (Dick) McAnn of Dixon and Judy Taylor of Akron, Ohio; three grandchildren, Bradley J. Osenberg, Christopher C. (Tiffany) Osenberg, and Shannon R. Osenberg; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, Lawrence, Art, Clifford Jr., and Lyle Lewis.

Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Preston-Schilling Funeral Home in Dixon. The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Frank Langholf, pastor of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Dixon, officiating. Burial will be at Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.
