Wheaton Rams varsity gold take home Bill George Youth Football League title

WHEATON – The Chicago Bears might be having a down year, but the same can't be said for the Wheaton Rams varsity gold team.

After a 6-3 regular season the Rams won three times in the playoffs, including a 22-16 win against the Palatine Panthers in the Bill George Youth Football League Super Bowl at Benedictine University on Nov. 13.

Wheaton topped Lyons 16-6 in the semifinals and defeated the Glen Ellyn Golden Eagles 24-16 in the first round of the postseason.

Players on the team are: DJ Almada, Tommy Barnett, Ben Bonga, Parker Brown, Kaleb Clousing, Riley Dravet, Tyler Fawcett, Joel Herring, Jimmy Hohnstein, Trace Hrgich, John Lambatos, Jackson Moore, Micah Roberts, Eddie Robinson, Jared Samuelson, Nick Walker, Hugh Werner, Leo Widtmann and Samson Zander. The team is coached by head coach Kyle Walker and assistants Jim Barnett, Mike Cetina, Joe Chavez, Greg Hohnstein, Wayne Schricker and Doug Wicks. The team manager is Danny Schricker.
