TISKILWA — Carol Sue Forbeck of Tiskilwa passed away Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2016, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.
Carol was born Aug. 31, 1943, in Mound City, Ill., to Vernon L. Harp Sr. and Florence M. (Parker) Harp. She married Gerald Forbeck on Nov. 25, 1967, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton.
Carol was a 1961 graduate of Mound City High School. She then went Southern Illinois University before transferring to Illinois Valley Community College and graduating with high honors.
Carol's hobbies included gardening, auctions and playing piano. She loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, family and friends. She also really enjoyed her annual sister’s week. Carol was employed at MTM Recognition in Princeton.
She is survived by her husband; five children, Heather (Mike) McComber of Tiskilwa; Gerald “Si” (Angie) Forbeck II of Princeton, Malinda (Chad) Winner of Princeton, Mary (Chad) Waterhouse of West Chicago and William Forbeck of Tiskilwa; five siblings, Muriel (Mike) Morris of San Antonio, Texas, Linda Jessen of Bettendorf, Iowa, Vernon “Butch” (Tammy) Harp Jr. of Rockford, Kathy Piper of Bettendorf, Iowa, and Jim (Linda) Harp of Cambridge; and six grandchildren.
Carol was preceded in death by her parents and two sisters, Verna Nord and DeeDee Hartz.
The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 28, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton. Funeral services will follow at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with Father Jeffery Stirniman officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Louis Catholic Church.
