Richard Hansen

BRADFORD — Richard E. Hansen, 79, of Bradford died at 5:42 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.

Born Oct. 26, 1937, in Hennepin to Richard M. and Hester (Litherland) Hansen, he married Ruth Ann Sadnick March 16, 1963, in Peru. She survives.

He graduated from Hennepin High School. He worked for B.F Goodrich in Henry for 19 years. He also worked for several trucking companies and retired from Three III Trucking Company in the Quad Cities.

He was a member of the Leet United Methodist Church in Bradford and Bradford American Legion Post 445. He loved to hunt and fish, and he never met a stranger.

He was a veteran, having served in the U.S. Navy, ADJAN (R-3).

Also surviving are one son, Tim (Penny) Hansen of Geneseo; one daughter, Cathie (Ken Campbell) Walters of Wyanet; four grandchildren, Ashley Walters of Bradford, David Maines of Chicago, Christopher Hansen of Chicago and Dakota Hansen of Buda; and one great-granddaughter, Ariani Ditola of Bradford.

He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Rodney Hansen; and one sister, Sandy Peterson.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 10, at the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home in Bradford with the Rev. Randy Cade officiating. Burial, with military rites conducted by Bradford American Legion Post 445, will be in the Bradford Cemetery in Bradford. Visitation will be from noon to 2 p.m. Saturday in the funeral home.
