Student of the Week (Emily Wines)

SPRING VALLEY — Emily Wines is an 18-year-old senior at Hall High School in Spring Valley. She’s kept busy this school year by participating in Leo Club and Spanish Club. Wines gave the BCR the lowdown about her life and her high school experience.

Family members: Jessica Wines (sister), Danny Wines (dad), Danelle Wines (mom), Helen Pellegrini (grandma).

Favorite class: Calculus.

Least favorite class: English.

Favorite teacher: Mrs. Bruner.

How would you describe your friends? Hard-working, supportive, intelligent people who are always there for me when I need them.

What do you want to be when you grow up? I want to be a special education teacher.

What is something you’ve learned in school that you think you will never use? Definitely calculus!

What kind of music do you listen to? I listen to mostly pop and rap.

Is there a celebrity you look or act like? I’m not really sure.

What’s the one thing in your life you can’t do without? My phone!

If you could change one thing about your school, what would it be? The number of stairs for sure.

What is your favorite thing about your school? The teachers and staff.

What scares you? Every kind of bug, especially spiders.

If you could try any job for a day, what would it be? An FBI agent.

If you could go anywhere in the world for free, where would it be? I want to go to Australia to scuba dive the Great Barrier Reef.

Who is your hero/role model? Jennifer Lawrence.
