Clinton Rosette Middle School crowns Kaitlin Haley as spelling champ
Clinton Rosette Middle School in DeKalb held its annual spelling bee on Jan. 18. After 14 rounds of spelling and vocabulary knowledge, seventh-grader Kaitlin Haley was declared the winner. Kaitlin will advance to the countywide bee on March 11 at Kishwaukee College, where approximately 20 students from DeKalb County will compete for a trip to Washington, D.C., to the National Scripps Spelling Bee in May. Other Clinton Rosette participants were Kayleigh Budnick, Robert Crump, Amanda Pastore, Sammy Pastore, Kailey Porter, Maria Sofia, Mikalah Soraparu, Hannah Squires, Lily Trapp, Reyna Casteneda, Andrea Espinoza, Toni LeBlanc, Devin Snow, Kaylee Zhou, Elijah Bobo, Faith Martin, Claudie Marie Miller, Eimy Ramierz, Tom Schramer and Karina Sinclair.
