Dorothy Friedrich

MONROE, Wis. — Dorothy Helen Friedrich, 95, of Monroe, Wis., passed away Saturday, Jan. 28, 2017, at Aster Assisting Living.

Born May 15, 1921, to Samuel Meinert and Hazel Schrack in rural Rock City, Ill., she married Bernard Friedrich Aug. 10, 1939, in the New Apostolic Church in Monroe, Wis. He preceded her in death.

She attended grade school in a one-room schoolhouse near Rock City. She had lived on dairy farms in the Juda and then the Albany/Monticello areas. She was a homemaker.

Surviving are one sister, Betty Gilbaugh of Loves Park; five children, Beverly (Walter) Sinkola of Ocala, Fla., Kristine (Richard) Morrissey of Muskego, Reta Martin of Kona, Hawaii, Roger (April) Friedrich of Monroe, Wis., and Mark Friedrich of Princeton; 11 grandchildren, David and Danny Sinkola, Dawn (Brett) Eichler, Kelly (Michael) Fisher, Kevin Morrissey, Lisa and Eric Martin, Christopher and Douglas Friedrich, Emily (Tim) Glasson and Mitchell (Jamie) Eley; 13 great-grandchildren, Andrew (Susan) Visiko, Makenna, Annabel and Braden Fisher, Karyn and Connor Morrissey, Braylee, Landon and Carter Friedrich, Christopher, Breanna and Lindsey Glasson, and Olivia Eley; and one great-great-granddaughter, Kimberly Visiko.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; six siblings, Kenneth, Lois, Alberta, Samuel Jr., Gene and Donald Meinert; and one grandchild, Rosemary Sinkola.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 4, at Shriner Hager Gohlke Funeral Home in Monroe, Wis., with the Rev. Ray Schoeller officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery in Juda.

Visitation will be prior to the services Saturday, from 9 to 11 a.m., in the funeral home.
