Bears bring back OL Eric Kush on a two-year deal

Kush started four games last season, his first with the Bears

The Bears added depth to their offensive line Wednesday by re-signing Eric Kush to a two-year contract.

The 27-year-old was claimed off waivers from the Rams last September and played in eight games with the Bears with four starts. Two of those starts were Bears victories – over the Vikings and 49ers – when Kush helped the O-line pave the way for big games from running back Jordan Howard.

Kush came to Chicago as a center but showed his versatility by starting at guard. He had only one penalty last season.

With Kyle Long, Josh Sitton and Cody Whitehair set as the Bears’ starting trio on the interior, Kush provides the O-line valuable depth and the ability to play multiple positions. Add in Hroniss Grasu, and the center/guard positions are well stocked for the Bears, allowing them to focus elsewhere this offseason.
