PRINCETON — Gregorio “Greg” Sánchez, 61, of Princeton passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017, in Peoria.
Greg was born on July 11, 1955, in Tijuana, Mexico, to Jose and Emilia (Cruz) Sánchez. He married Ursula Altmayer on July 23, 1982, in Princeton. He worked at Monterey Mushroom in the growing department for 35 years. Greg enjoyed riding his motorcycle, fishing with his children and grandchildren and spending quality time with his family.
He is survived by his wife; two daughters, Chelsea Sánchez of Princeton, and Ericka (Rob Comer) Sánchez of Princeton; two grandchildren, Robert and Amayah Comer of Princeton; his mother; and siblings, Silvia Camacho, Manuel Sánchez, Richard Sánchez, Raquel Manriquez, Ruby Saenz, Roberto Sánchez; and four furry friends, Chata, Tigre, Mela, and Anna. Greg is also survived by many extended family members.
He was preceded in death by his father; two brothers, Jose Sánchez and Martin Sánchez; one sister in infancy; in-laws, Maria and Nikolaus Altmayer; as well as two furry friends, Tank and Oso.
The family will receive friends on Monday, June 12, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.
Funeral services will follow at the funeral home at 1 p.m. with Deacon John Murphy officiating. Burial will take place at Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton.
