Sandwich Police Detective Jerry Ikemire was promoted to sergeant at a recent Sandwich City Council meeting. He was sworn in by Mayor Rick Olson, who formerly served as Sandwich Police Chief for many years. Ikemire has served on the Sandwich Police Department since 2006. He’s replacing Sgt. Bob Holmes, who retired. Ikemire said he is looking forward to helping train the “younger kids” on the police force.
