Joliet Area Historical Museum honors longtime board member

JOLIET – On April 30, members of the Joliet Area Historical Museum’s Board and staff gathered at Alden Estates of Shorewood to honor longtime board member and historic preservation advocate Virginia Ferry.

In the presence of family, friends and well-wishers, Ferry was presented with a proclamation declaring her as the museum’s charter director emeritus member of the board.

The “director emeritus” designation will be awarded to any future board members who have served the organization with a level of dedication and tenure which matches Ferry’s.

Museum staff noted that Ferry has set a high bar for this honor with so many accomplishments relating not only to the museum, but the preservation and sharing of the Joliet area’s history across the community.
